APPLICATION:
Mainly used in special optical glass materials, additives in phosphate glass and fluorophosphate glass. When a small amount of barium metaphosphate is introduced into fluorophosphate glass containing barium metaphosphate, the anti-permeability and light absorption of fluoride glass will be significantly changed. With the increase of barium metaphosphate content, The transition temperature (Tx) and the beginning crystallization temperature (Tg) of the glass will increase, and the liquid phase temperature (T1) of the glass will decrease. At the same time, the Tx-Tg difference, which is used to describe the thermal stability of the glass, increases significantly. With the increase of barium metaphosphate content, the change will be smooth. The influence of barium metaphosphate on light absorption is mainly reflected in the ultraviolet and infrared transmission bands of glass. The introduction of barium metaphosphate will make the ultraviolet intrinsic absorption cutoff wavelength of fluoride move towards the short wavelength direction. When the introduced barium metaphosphate exceeds a certain value, the ultraviolet intrinsic absorption cutoff wavelength of glass will shift back towards the long wave direction. The addition of barium metaphosphate makes the permeability of
the infrared region of the glass significantly worse, not only the infrared absorption band edge of the glass moves to the short wave direction, but also significantly reduces the permeability of the glass in the middle infrared region. Because the introduction of barium metaphosphate will increase the refractive index of the glass and reduce the Abbe number, it is not conducive to reducing the nonlinear refractive index of the glass matrix.
